Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Akeem Morris, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic

Education: Benedict College (B.S. Biology), Palmer College of Chiropractic

Dr. Akeem Morris was born and raised on the island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. From an early age, he knew he wanted to work in a field where he could help people improve their health and overall quality of life, though his path to chiropractic unfolded in an unexpected way.

Growing up in the Virgin Islands, chiropractic care was not widely known in his community. His first exposure came during high school when his older sister began working for a local chiropractor. Not long after, his family faced a life-changing experience when his sister was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor that required surgery. Following complications from a second procedure, she suffered a stroke.

During her recovery, she underwent several therapies, including chiropractic care. Watching her gradually regain sensation in her hands and legs through adjustments sparked Dr. Morris’s curiosity about the body’s ability to heal and the role chiropractic could play in that process.

After graduating from Charlotte Amalie High School, Dr. Morris moved to the U.S. mainland to continue his education. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Benedict College, where he was also a student-athlete competing in collegiate baseball on scholarship. During this time, he gained hands-on experience through internships in various healthcare settings.

He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2020. Since then, Dr. Morris has practiced in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and throughout the DMV area, working with a diverse range of patients. He has developed a strong passion for helping active individuals and athletes improve performance, recover from injury, and maintain long-term mobility.

Today, Dr. Morris brings that experience to Elite Function Chiropractic, where his focus is helping patients move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free. He is committed to delivering personalized, results-driven care and looks forward to continuing to serve the Capitol Hill community.
